In times of uncertainty, we find strength in unity. That’s why I’m excited to introduce you to a new community initiative making connections and fostering participation in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District: West Linn-Wilsonville Education 4 All (WLWV Ed 4 All).
This parent-led group is stepping up to tackle the district’s budgetary challenges with transparency by shining a spotlight on key issues affecting our schools, providing clear unified updates to parents at every school in the district, and empowering community members with tools to make their voices heard.
Two Groups with a Shared Goal
In our district, two groups are working to address challenges in our district: West Linn-Wilsonville Education 4 All (WLWV Ed 4 All) and the Small Schools Alliance (SSA). While both share the goal of improving our schools, they have distinct approaches.
WLWV Ed 4 All focuses on collaborating with district administration to improve all schools in West Linn. They bring parents, educators, and district leaders together to work toward transparency, effective communication, and shared solutions.
The SSA advocates for small schools as the best model for academic excellence and equity. Bridging the gap for children from disadvantaged or marginalized groups to provide equal opportunities for all family’s in the district. We believe small schools aren’t a burden but an investment that should be expanded to all schools in WLWV wherever there is buy in from the neighborhood.
Although our methods differ, our goals align: supporting schools, promoting transparency, and uniting the community.
We fully support WLWV Ed 4 All’s work and encourage you to learn more.

The West Linn City Council is holding a Listening Session on Wednesday at 6:00 pm at the Adult Community Center:
file:///Users/admin/Desktop/city_council_listening_session_2024-11-20_agenda%20(2).pdf
This is to provide an opportunity to all interested parties to express their concerns/position on the issues around closing/consolidating small schools in West Linn. The Council will summarize the comments in a letter to the School Board.
The City Council doesn't have control over the school board but we want to provide an open forum for the community.
Hope to see you there.
